A New Direction: Turning the Football Itself Into a Canvas

Over the past few years, my artwork has expanded in ways I never expected. What began as traditional acrylic portraiture gradually led me into a new creative lane—hand-painted custom footballs designed for players, teams, organizations, and collectors.

My first step into the world of painted footballs happened when I approached Gridiron Football Prep in New Jersey and that led to an opportunity to create a set of custom Ohio State Buckeyes–themed footballs. Painting detailed artwork on leather presented a whole new artistic challenge, but the results opened my eyes to what could be done. Each ball became more than a piece of equipment—it became a storytelling surface, a way to honor pride, legacy, and achievement.

Those Ohio State pieces sparked an idea:
What if I could bring this same level of artistic detail to the Canadian Football League?

As a Canadian artist who has experience painting CFL players and partnering with the BC Lions, it felt like a natural next step. So I began creating custom CFL footballs—hand-painted, one-of-one pieces meant to celebrate milestones, retirement seasons, community awards, and major moments in a player’s career
